Russian team participates in the international SWAT competition in Kuwait
On February 14-22, the “Kuwait SWAT Elite International Competition” was held in Kuwait.
Around 20 international teams participated in the event. Russia was represented by the 604th Special Purpose Unit “Vityaz” of the Russian National Guard’s Forces. Russian commandos took the second place in the final ranking, finishing only a few points behind the team of the host country, Kuwait. Nevertheless, the Russian Special Forces’ unit won in the final and the most entertaining challenge of the competition – the obstacle course.
The competition gained major attention from the local audience as well as from the diplomatic missions. Representatives of the Russian Embassy in Kuwait cheered for the Russian national team. The awards to the prizewinners were presented by the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense and Acting Minister of Interior of the State of Kuwait Sheikh Fahad Yousef Al-Saba.
